quality management system (qms)

a qms is a collection of policies, plans, processes, practices, and the supporting infrastructure by which an organisation aims to reduce and eventually eliminate nonconformance to specifications, standards, and customer expectations in the most cost effective and efficient manner.

also known as quality assurance as opposed to quality control, which is the verification of product / service specifications to a standard.

most choose to model their qms on the international standard iso9001. others then choose to subject themselves to an independent third party audit and be granted certification to the standard. my company has. has yours?
