It is an offence for a person to sell, purchase, possess or use a firearm which has not been registered.
A licence will not be approved until proof can be provided that the applicant has completed an approved firearms licence qualification course.
A firearm may only be used in connection with the genuine reasons for the grant of the licence or as authorised by the permit. Reasons for holding a gun licence are:-
- Membership of a gun or pistol club
- Recreational hunting or vermin control
- Vertebrate pest animal control
- Business or employment
- Rural purposes
- Animal Welfare
It is important to remember that the above regulations apply to both working and replica firearms even if you are only collecting replicas for display in your home.
