Attention business owners – we’d like to introduce Barney Glover!

As a small business owner you may never have heard of Barney Glover – and that could be unfortunate. But you’ll have the opportunity to hear from him at the 8 October Small Business Summit Greater Western Sydney and we’re going to tell you a little about him now and why you might be interested. Professor Glover is one of the Summit panellists for session two and if you are keen to grow your business, or you might benefit from research and development expertise, it may be well worth your while to find out more.

Business development and UWS

As Vice Chancellor of the University of Western Sydney, Professor Glover plays a key role in forging connections between business and education in the region. UWS offers excellent support services to small business through UWS Small Business Connect, and the UWS ‘Redi’ team (Research Engagement, Development & Innovation) actively seeks research and development partnership opportunities with businesses.

Professor Glover’s expertise is more than just academic – he has served on the boards of corporations and organisations in areas as diverse as health and medical research, telecommunications, energy, and mineral exploration. He’s been involved in establishing a number of joint ventures between educational institutions and business.

Professor Glover believes the UWS approach to business and community will see it playing an increasingly active role in economic growth throughout the region. He said this will be achieved via “extensive support services for small businesses, and driving increased collaboration for research and development across the business spectrum.”
