Many business owners and residents in the Western Sydney region may never have heard of Small Business Summit panellist Tom
Gellibrand, but they've almost certainly enjoyed the benefits of his expertise. Until recently, Tom was the Deputy Director General of the Department of
Planning. In that position he had significant input into the planning of new infrastructure
in NSW.
He probably has one of the most accurate visions of just what our region will look like in 2019 – and he’ll be sharing some of that
information with us at the Small Business Summit Greater Western Sydney on 8 October 2014.
In his new role as Deputy Project Director, Rapid Transit Integration on the North West Rail Project, he’ll be involved in planning the
transport links, car parking facilities and the use of land adjoining the eight
new stations. It’s no small responsibility – planning a new rail line in a
populated area requires the delicate balancing of commuter and community needs,
and a great deal of foresight.
During the second panel session at the Small Business Summit,
Tom will be giving the audience an insight into the short and medium term transport
developments planned for Western Sydney. In the same session, business grant
specialist Bruce Patten will be talking about some of the 600+ government
grants available to enterprises, and Small Business Commissioner Robyn Hobbs
will explain how businesses can take advantage of this new office designed to increase
the level of support available for small businesses in NSW.
Combine this with keynote speaker Craig Rispin’s insights
into future social and technological trends that will affect the way we work and
do business in the region, and you might just leave with a completely new sense
of direction for your business!
If you haven’t booked yet, tickets are available through
Eventbrite at just $132 and the event runs from 7.00am to 12.30pm on 8 October
2014 at the Hillsong Convention Centre in the Norwest Business Park. Sydney
